WiseRepro Group - Grant Funding Case study.
The Client
Through multiple companies, the WiseRepro Group (WiseRepro) provides a broad range of industry-leading bovine reproduction services to Australian cattle producers. In the 1980’s, Chairman and founder Dr Ced Wise pioneered Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer (MOET) in Australia and, since the inception of the businesses that form part of WiseRepro, Ced and his team have continued to extend the range of assisted reproduction services offered by the group.
WiseRepro currently employs 44 personnel across its facilities in Central Queensland, the Southern Downs and South-East Queensland. The company is committed to fostering innovation and pursuing advancements in bovine reproduction to drive productivity and sustainability gains for the primary production sector.
As part of their strategy to extend the availability and scope of bovine reproduction services in regional Queensland, WiseRepro partnered with Intellect Labs to pursue non-dilutive funding from the State and Federal Governments.
The Solution
In collaboration with the WiseRepro Group, Intellect Labs helped identify and pursue several promising grant funding opportunities that aligned with the growth and commercialisation plans of the business.
Once target programs were identified, Intellect Labs then worked closely with key management personnel at WiseRepro to guide the preparation of high-quality competitive grant funding bids for each funding opportunity. These spanned both State and Federal government programs with a focus on supporting capital-intensive facility expansions, new equipment purchases and new export market development.
The Result
With the help of Intellect Labs' guidance and support, over the last 12 months Wise Repro has successfully secured more than $1.5mill in government funding across multiple programs. These have included:
· Backing Business in the Bush Fund
· Rural Economic Development Grant
· Business Growth Fund, and
· Export Market Development Grant.
The application success rate through this period was 100%, largely due to the early planning and evaluation of each grant program to ensure alignment with proposed projects, and the quality of the grant application information that was submitted.
The funding secured by WiseRepro is now being used to expand its regional facilities, implement new industry-leading equipment & infrastructure, expand the bovine reproduction services available to producers, and grow Australia’s bovine genetics export market.
The awarded funding is a testament to the quality of the services offered by WiseRepro and their commitment to improving the genetics of Australian cattle herds.
